Prosthodontists are experts in the restoration and replacement of teeth… they make smiles look beautiful and function the way they should. After completing four years of dental school, Prosthodontists receive an extra three years of specialized training in an American Dental Association (ADA) accredited graduate program. Prosthodontics, like Orthodontics (braces), Endodontics (root canals), and Oral Surgery (tooth extractions) is one of the nine dental specialties recognized by the ADA.Thanks to the significant advances in dentistry over the last twenty years, Dr. Rimes is able to offer his patients a wide range of professional services. While most dental general practitioners are capable of taking care of simple crown procedures, as it applies to repairing tooth structure, when it comes to replacing or restoring multiple teeth, an arch, or an entire mouth, a Prosthodontist is the one to call for this type of challenging and complex treatment. So many people like to think of Prosthodontists as the “quarterback” of a dental treatment plan. They regularly lead teams of specialists and other health professionals to develop solutions to your dental needs. Dr. Rimes strongly believes in continued dental education in Prosthodontics. Not only is he a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics, but he further separated himself from his peers by becoming nationally board certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontists.
